Privacy, Community & Legal Notice
PSBlackout.com is built for peaceful, voluntary consumer advocacy. This page explains how the site handles information, community posts, trademarks, corrections, and respectful participation.
Effective August 28, 2026Independent advocacy
PSBlackout.com is an independent grassroots consumer-advocacy website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Group Corporation, PlayStation, Change.org, any media outlet, or any government entity.
“Sony,” “PlayStation,” and “PS5” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the companies, platforms, and products discussed in commentary and advocacy. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Voluntary participation
Participation is personal and voluntary. The site asks players to consider lawful purchasing choices and respectful public discussion. It does not encourage threats, harassment, trespass, vandalism, service disruption, contract violations, impersonation, or targeting employees, developers, creators, retailers, or other players.
Campaign requests are proposals for consideration, not legal demands or claims of authority. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, employment, or purchasing advice, and campaign outcomes are not guaranteed.
Privacy
Information you provide
- Pledges: email address, optional player alias, and selected role.
- Player Wall: alias, selected role, and message. Wall content is public.
- Reports: report reason and optional details submitted privately to moderators.
Technical information
The site stores a random community identifier, selected role, alias, and IDs of your own posts in your browser’s local storage so features such as editing and role selection work. Service providers may process ordinary request information such as an IP address and browser data for delivery, security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. Reports use a one-way identifier derived from request information to reduce duplicate abuse reports.
How information is used
Pledge information is used to maintain the independent roster and, where you expressly agree, send important campaign updates. Information is not sold or rented. Data may be processed by service providers used to operate the site, including GitHub Pages, Supabase, and Google Fonts. External links—including Change.org and media sites—have their own privacy practices.
Retention and choices
Information may be retained while the campaign and site operate, and as reasonably needed for security, moderation, records, or legal obligations. A public privacy-request channel is not currently active and will be published on this page when available. Clearing browser storage removes locally saved preferences but does not delete information already submitted to the site.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit an email address or public message if you are under 13. Public Player Wall posts can be flagged with the report control beside each post.
Community standards
Critique ideas, policies, products, and corporate decisions—never a person’s identity or humanity. The Player Wall does not permit:
- Hate or demeaning content based on race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or another protected characteristic.
- Slurs, threats, intimidation, encouragement of violence or self-harm, harassment, or celebration of harm.
- Doxxing, personal contact information, impersonation, targeted abuse, spam, or coordinated disruption.
- Knowingly false factual claims, illegal content, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
Automated filters and human review can make mistakes. Content may be rejected, hidden, edited by its author, or removed to protect the community. Disagreement—including opposition to the boycott—is welcome when expressed respectfully.
User submissions
You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting to the Player Wall, you give PSBlackout.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, display, reproduce, and moderate that content for operating and promoting the community. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.
Submitting a post does not create employment, agency, partnership, or endorsement. The views of community members are their own and do not necessarily represent PSBlackout.com.
Claims, sources & corrections
Factual claims should be supported by attributable sources and distinguished from opinion, interpretation, or campaign requests. Petition signatures are attributed to Change.org and shown separately from direct site pledges. Media-coverage links record that coverage exists; they do not imply that an outlet endorses the movement.
Material errors should be corrected transparently. A public correction-request channel is being configured and will be published here when active.
Copyright concerns
Community members may not post copyrighted material without permission or another lawful basis. Public Player Wall posts can be flagged with the report control beside each post. A separate rights-holder reporting channel is being configured.
The Player Wall report control is a practical moderation tool and is not a representation that PSBlackout.com has completed the separate U.S. Copyright Office process required to claim every DMCA safe-harbor protection.
Contact status & updates
PSBlackout.com is not publishing or using a public contact email at this time. Do not send PSBlackout requests to unrelated third-party organizations. A PSBlackout-controlled contact channel will be listed here when it is ready.
This notice may be updated as the site changes; the effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
