🚨 PS5 BLACKOUT — DAY 4 UPDATE!!
THE STORY ISN'T GOING AWAY.
We're now four days into the PlayStation Blackout, and today there are some significant developments.
🌎 MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS NOW TALKING ABOUT IT
Today, The Guardian published a story about gamers pushing back against the end of physical media — and specifically covered the August 23–30 PlayStation protest.
This isn't just a few comments buried on social media anymore.
The discussion over physical games, digital licensing and consumer choice is reaching a much larger audience.
📰 MORE NEWS OUTLETS ARE COVERING THE BLACKOUT
Moneycontrol and Business Today also published stories today about Sony reminding PlayStation users that digital software is licensed rather than sold — right as the blackout is taking place.
Digital games aren't the enemy.
Removing our choice is the problem.
📈 THE PETITION KEEPS GROWING
I checked the main Don't Kill the Disc petition today:

Only 25k more till 400k
500,000 should be the next target.

🎮 SOME PLAYERS DON'T WANT THE BLACKOUT TO END AUGUST 30
The original blackout runs:
AUGUST 23 → AUGUST 30
But reports are now covering players who say they're going to continue their boycott indefinitely.
But it shows that for some players, this has become about much more than one week without PlayStation.
It's about what gaming looks like 5, 10 or 20 years from now.
💚 AND NOW XBOX JUST ENTERED THE CONVERSATION
Microsoft announced a new Xbox disc-to-digital program today.
That doesn't necessarily guarantee Xbox will preserve physical games forever, and converting a disc to a digital license isn't the same as owning the physical copy.
But here's what I find interesting:
The entire industry is now having to think about what happens to our physical libraries as gaming becomes increasingly digital.
That's exactly the conversation gamers SHOULD be having.

WE ARE AGAINST DIGITAL-ONLY BEING OUR ONLY CHOICE.
Keep physical.
Keep the disc drive.
Keep used games.
Keep collecting.
Keep lending.
Keep trading.
Keep reselling.
KEEP THE CHOICE WITH THE PLAYER.
